Our fourth event this year in honor of Menstrual Hygiene Day. This was held at Namanze Secondary School, Khasoko village, Bungoma County. We met close to 300 girls who we talked to on matters of; reproductive health, Career development, exposure, leadership and menstrual hygiene.

We also met teenage mothers and had a deep discussion with them. They were at some point not ready to disclose some information about them but from our talks a good number were led to this situation due to lack of sanitary towels. Poverty has also forced these girls into marriage. Many of them come from their marital homes to school together with their ‘husbands.’

Since this is a mixed Secondary School, we also talked to the boys on career development, general hygiene and leadership. We also urged them to be their sisters’ keepers since charity begins at home.

We also gave these girls sanitary towels, stationery and school bags.
